This is a painting done in memoriam of my Uncle Casey. My Cousin Tamara asked me to do this piece and to paint it as though the horse was trying to bring him back. Despite how simple the piece looks, it was not easy in the least, but now that I've finished it, I hope that my Cousin can find some peace.

I was looking through the pieces that I have left, and realized that all of my Barcelona Lighthouse pieces have sold, so I decided to try it again on canvas this time. I will be showing these pieces at Light the Lakes on Lake Erie, as well as in several businesses in the Westfield area through the fall and winter.

This is, yet again, the Barcelona Lighthouse, which is a few miles from my house. I love painting this piece, as you can tell since this is at least the fifth time I've done it, but I try to do it slightly differently each time. This piece of shale is far smaller than I usually do of the lighthouse, it being 9x9 inches at its widest points and not terribly thick. I hope you like it!

This piece was sold to be hung in the pizza place down the street from me, Jimmy's in Westfield NY. She asked if I would do a piece to go on their black and white tiled wall, in black, white and red, so this is what I came up with. I wanted to try a combination of styles and I think...I hope, it works.

This is a piece that I have wanted to do for a long while, but never had the right piece of shale. The piece itself is simple, but for that, moves me more, gives my imagination more room to work, which I love. The shale is 7x8.5 inches at its widest points and is rather thin as well, so hardly weight more than a pound or two.

I have had this piece of shale for nearly a year, waiting and hoping for inspiration on what to turn it into. I think this scene works well for it. As you can tell, I love this type of scene, quiet and peaceful, while still bright and cheerful. The shale itself is 28x11.5 in. at its widest points and is sold with a stand that supports its weight.

I love this picture. A friend's sister took it and posted it on a 'great things about Westfield NY' page on facebook. The colors of the trees and the bold blue of the lake in the distance is my idea of perfection. The shale is quite heavy and is 17x14 in at its widest and as all of my paintings, comes with a stand that supports its weight easily. :)

$60 on display at Parkview Ice Cream in Westfield NY SOLD
I was asked to do a painting of the Barcelona Lighthouse yet again, this one to possibly be displayed in a local ice cream shop. There is a large, oak shelf in the front, where the owner wants to put several of my pieces. This piece is 13x12.5 at its widest points and comes with a stand of oak that holds it rather beautifully. :)

I have been holding onto this piece of shale for nearly a year now, trying to find the right pcture to paint on it, and I think I finally found it. It's a rather simple scene, but I love the idea of being on the edge, so rappelling down the side of a rather sheer face, appeals to me greatly. The shale itself is 16x12.5 at its widest points, but is rather thin and lighter than most.

This is a view just down the road from a friend's new house. Beautiful country, where the lake and all of the oncoming weather is very visible for miles. It is an 11x14 canvas piece that I'll be showing on Saturday mornings at Moore Park in Westfield NY this summer at our Farmer's Market. Come and take a look around!

This is an incredible piece of shale, its surface ridged and rippled, its edges utterly uneven. I love this piece. It's also very difficult to get a good picture of, because of all of the ridges. I've never tried to paint birch trees before, but found this picture and just had to try it. At its widest, this piece is about 12x9 inches.

This is a piece that I've been wanting to do for a long time, but never had the right piece of shale. I love how the shale wall makes the falls look, how the water is so roiled up and interesting. I find scenes like this far more intriguing than most of a more complex nature. The shale is about 8x10 in. and is maybe half an inch wide, very light in comparison to most.

These statues are just down from my apartment, on the corner of Main Street and Portage. Abe Lincoln apparently made a stop in Westfield and stopped to see the little girl who had written to him, recommending that he grow the beard that he is so well known for. It is one of Westfield's claims to fame. Let me know what you think of it!

I have been working on this piece for months, but had quite a few problems making it look realistic. I think I finally managed it, or at least I hope. :) This is one of my favorite places in the gorge and according to my husband, an excellent place to fish from. The piece is a 16x20 on canvas.

I have been planning to do this piece for a long time and now, I've finally gotten it done. This is from the park that is just across the street from the apartment, a pretty place to be able to see out the front windows. I have to admit, I hoped it would be better than it is, but I do like it. I hope you do as well. Oh and the shale is about 12x15 inches at its widest.

I love this piece of shale. It's about 6x8 inches and probably weighs two pounds, but the thing that I love, is the rippling of the shale, how it isn't smooth at all and how the shale is visible on the sides. It's such an interesting piece all on its own, but in my opinion, the painting makes it all the more interesting. :) I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it!

This is the largest piece that I have done in...several years. It is at its tallest and widest points, 23x20 inches and weighs in at 29 pounds. It's a very cool piece of shale, with many ridges and variances in its surface, that gives the painting a bit of depth. I have painted this scene before, in a much smaller form, but love the scene so much, that I wanted to try it on a larger scale. I hope you like it!
